RPi freezes after video is stored

Sun Aug 11, 2013 7:27 am

Hello,

I have RPi V1 and RPi Camera Rev 1.3
I did update and upgrade and configuration change as described in howto.

I use RPi via ssh client;
pictures are working well, I am also able to get video, but:
at the end of taking video, RPi is frozen - or it seems to - my ssh session is down, I am not able to ping RPi,
I only can turn off power supply and after boot I can find correct video file stored.

any idea why it each time does this?
thanks

I use power source 5V/ 1.0A - is this the issue? Is 1A enough when using camera module?

Yes it's defiantly a power problem ! I just had the exact same problem and I have been trying for hours to find out what the hell went wrong. Then I found your post and this one :

As everyone is saying it's the network that dies once you use "raspivid" command. What I did was connect the Pi via USB to my laptop which should output more power then my adapter and the problem was solved. hope this helps. :)
