HDMI to VGA converter: config.txt

Mon Jul 29, 2013 12:33 am

Hi,

I'd like to connect my Pi to a VGA display (1280x1024). I have a HDMI to VGA converter (not adapter). I tested it with this exact screen on my laptop and it worked. However, the screen stays black if connected to the Pi.

Here is my /boot/config.txt:

Code: Select all

# HDMI to VGA converter settings
disable_overscan=1
hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080
hdmi_group=2
################################
#hdmi_mode=16   1024x768  60Hz #
#hdmi_mode=17   1024x768  70Hz #
hdmi_mode=28
#   1280x800  60Hz #
#hdmi_mode=29   1280x800  75Hz #
#hdmi_mode=47   1440x900  60Hz #
#hdmi_mode=48   1440x900  75Hz #
The tvservice -s command returns this:

Code: Select all

state 0x40001 [NTSC 4:3], 720x480 @ 60Hz, interlaced

It looks like your converter isn't being detected on the hdmi and the Pi is defaulting to composite output.

Does tvservice -m DMT show anything?
