IPv6 Support in Debian image?

I'm trying to get IPv6 working on the Debian image (19/04 version), but it doesn't seem to be enabled.

Googling voor "debian ipv6 enable" brings up mostly hits for disabling it, and I don't see any of those methods applied in the image.

How can I enable it?

It seems that it's disabled in the kernel:$ zgrep IPV6 /proc/config.gz
# CONFIG_IPV6 is not set I guess I'll have to figure out a way to compile my own kernel.

And that's just what I did:

This kernel is a drop-in replacement, just move /boot/kernel.img out of the way and place this one there. It adds about 155040 bytes to the kernel, but a lot of IPv6 goodness

Scratch that, it ran smoothly for a while, but ran into a kernel panic later. I guess you need to install the compiled modules as well. Will report later on stability.

I've also installed the modules, but unfortunately that didn't solve the problem. After running SABNZB+ for a while downloading stuff over IPv6 the kernel panics and it breaks down.

I have seen several reports of kernel panics with heavy use of the network interface (for example, streaming files from attached USB hard drive, out to the network).  Could this be unrelated to IPV6 vs IPV4, and be related to some instability with the network interface itself?

I'm also using sabnzb and saw a kernel panic last night (though not using IPv6).
