Network dropping once per day

Sun Jul 21, 2013 3:27 am

About once a day (sometimes twice) I get the following error message in /var/log/messages of my Pidora system:

NetworkManager[250]: <info> (eth0): carrier now OFF (device state 100, deferring action for 4 seconds)

And my network connection drops for a few seconds and then reconnects.

I've seen posts about faulty power supplies causing network issues, but the posts I saw involved much more frequent network drops (several times in just a few minutes). My power supply is the one-piece PSU from Newark. I also saw posts about the Pi getting its ground from the display and I don't have my Pi hooked up to a display - it's running headless. Even if I did hook it up to my TV, my TV isn't grounded (it has a 2 prong power cable).

So, I'm wondering, does a once-a-day network interruption sound like a PSU problem, or perhaps a ground problem, or something else?
