Faster and Bigger SD Cards

Is there any advantage is getting a bigger and faster SD card?  I've always had the philosophy that more and faster memory, either RAM or  hard drive, was better in any computer so is it worth investing in a class 6 or even 10 SD card with 16 or 32G capacity?

Bigger – certainly. This will allow you to install more programs, and store more documents on the card (of course, you could also rig up something with an external hard drive). Just remember to increase the size of your root partition (the default for most of the images is less than 2 GB to fit on a 2 GB card).

Be careful about buying faster drives at the moment: there are currently problems with Class 10 SDHC cards that are apparently caused by a bug in Broadcom's loader. See: http://elinux.org/RPi_Verified.....s#SD_cards

Warning: I ordered a Class 6 memory card from AlphaMemory on Amazon, and they sent me a Class 10 of the same capacity, because allegedly "Integral are no longer producing Class 6 as the price difference between Class 6 and Class 10 became negligible and any device that uses Class 6 can use Class 10".

I've heard in other discussions on here that a named-brand Class 4 performs as well as the higher rate cards anyway.

If you are in Canada, Staples has 8 GB Class 4 Kodak brand cards on for $6.95 each. I bought two to experiment with different distros. They work great.
