Hi ,

I'm having an issue with the debian6-13-04-2012.zip file when I un-zip it the only file there is debian6-13-04-2012.img.sha1 so Win32DiskImager wont recognise the file do I just need to delete the .sha1 or am I missing some thing?

Thanks

What did you use to unzip it?

What did you use to inspect and make the determination that the .sha file was the only file?
And some folks need to stop being fanboys and see the forest behind the trees.

What size was the initial zip file.

There should be a .img file when unpacked - that is the image.  The sha1 is to allow you to verify that it has unpacked correctly.

I'm just using windows to see that there is no file but Win32DiskImager can't see a file either I tried unzipping it with winzip and winrar both with the same results.

The orignal zip file is 484,270kb

I've just downloaded. 484,270KB is the same as I get.

when extracted I get 2 files

debian6-13-04-2012.img - 1,904,297KB

debian6-13-04-2012.img.sha1 - 1KB

I used 7zip to extract

A .sha1 file only contains the checksum to check if the image is correct.

It seems you either have a corrupt or a truncated .zip file. The latter sometimes happens when the site you are getting it from is overloaded, and "stutters".

However, in such cases the downloaded file is normally smaller than it should be.

Try an archiving program like Winrar if you continue to have problems would be my suggestion.
If you are more worried about ,spelling, punctuation or grammar you have probably already missed the point so please just move on.
