Find source of sound

Sat Jun 22, 2013 11:29 pm

I want to hook up some microphones to a raspberry pi, and use something like triangulation to determine the location, or at least direction, of the source of a sound. Is there any existing source code and/or build details to do something like this? I'm thinking this would be a cool way to build interaction into an r-pi. I guess the nature of the sound might matter to the implementation - my initial application is to be able to figure out where someone making some noise is.

Implementing something like this is quite a bit harder than it sounds (hehe)
