no camera module - timelapse with usb webcam ?

Hi all,
As my camera module is still a few weeks away I was wondering - is it possibly to do the type of time-lapse photography shown on other posts using a webcam ? Not worried about power consumption s this will be fixed not portable

yes if you can get an image out of it then you can timelapse it .... you may have to stich the images together yourself but there is software for that
