Raspberry won't boot again after powering down

Tue Jun 18, 2013 5:41 pm

A while ago I bought a Raspberry PI (Model B).
I downloaded an image, copied it onto an SD card and tried to boot it.
After finding and using a suitable power supply, I managed to get it to boot.

However, if I try to boot the system after shutting it down and removing the power
it won't boot again. It just displays the Raspberry logo.

Re-imaging the card solves the problem until I shutdown again.

I tried three different power supplies and also tried booting it without a mouse, keyboard
and TV (I'm using the composite video output), but the problem persists.

Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong?

thanks,

Andreas

After you issue the shutdown command are you waiting for the shutdown sequence to be fully completed before pulling the power?
The green LED will flicker some then make 10 distinct flashes. After that you can pull the power.

Not overclocking.......

Have you actually measured voltages at TP1 to TP2?

Try a different SD card...
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.

After shutting down I wait until the screen goes blank. Only a red LED is on at the time I pull the power.

Didn't try to measure the voltages at TP1 to TP2...

I will measure the voltages and also try a different SD card and see how it goes.

thanks,

Andreas
