Pidora / Fedora 19

Fri Jun 14, 2013 7:44 pm

Does anyone have any plans for a Schrödinger's Cat version for the Pi? If so, what is the intended timeframe for a release?

TIA

Alec

You should get it as Fedora ARM here:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Architectures/ARM

But not as Spin like Pidora.

Fedora ARM is not supported on the Raspberry Pi; that's why Pidora exists.

;)

<snip>
Raspberry Pi and other Remixes
If you are looking for Fedora 18 on a device that wasn't mentioned above it may not have official support due to some licensing issue or lack of upstream support. Unofficial Fedora remixes are available for additional targets including the Raspberry Pi and other popular devices. The list of known Fedora 18 remixes is catalogued at Architectures/ARM/F18/Remixes. Likewise, root filesystem tarballs are provided to help you make your own remixes.

I think you may be misunderstanding what you just posted.

"Unofficial Fedora remixes are available for additional targets including the Raspberry Pi"

The "unofficial Fedora remix" for the Raspberry Pi is currently Pidora. This is not supported by the Fedora Project.

no, no, i don't think so.

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Architect ... 19/Remixes says:

"Some ARM devices are not officially supported by Fedora because they require proprietary drivers and firmware that do not meet the Fedora guidelines"

unfortunately, pidora is not yet on the list, hopefully because of it is work in progress...

who knows about this? Otherwise, i will try it with an existing board at home using the latest armhfp-image for vfat. just for giving it a try. The resizing could be done by dracut. if its working, its working, if its not, it was worth trying it for me.

See also the release announcement here, which again says, that raspi is not supported.

..hmmmm....it would be interesting, what it is, what is not supported because of proprietary drivers...

Return to “Pidora / Fedora”
