Did I buy the wrong HDMI to VGA cable?

I bought a "Mini HD" to VGA converter and the HDMI end is too small to plug into the Raspberry. It's a model MNHD2VGAE from StarTech.com. Did I order the wrong thing?

You simply need to add on a Mini HDMI to HDMI adapter.

For example:

But as JeremyF said yours used with an adapter should work.

Note that some of the self powered HDMI to VGA adapters use too much power. Self powered means it is powered from the RPi board though the HDMI cable. You might want to do so Google searching to see if others have successfully used that model on a RPi.
