recovery program

hi all
im trying to run the recovery program (noob file) i get as far as the screen with the various os systems at the bottom it says hold down shift to enter recovery-my problem is that neither the keyboard or the mouse will work so i have no input i think both usb sockets are dead? if i am right is there a work around?.

No,

If your board is broken...

Are you sure it's not just the type of keyboard, we use a slightly different driver at start of day to talk to the keyboard and if it's a relatively complex one (like the apple keyboard or a keyboard with special buttons) then it may not work properly. Can you try a different keyboard?

thanks for your swift reply-i will try another keyboard are the usb`s protected by a fuse? i know they are surface mount so are tiny,but i have had some success with soldering smd devices.

If it's a power issue then using a powered USB hub should work...
