Pidora: Installing Pi Store / LibreOffice

Mon Jun 03, 2013 8:09 pm

Hello,
I just got my raspberry pi and installed pidora 18 on it. I am new to linux and fedora so it took me a while to figure out the command line and yum to install stuff. I want to install LibreOffice on my pi, but the only place I can find it is on the pi store. Unfortunately I can't figure out how to install the pi store on pidora as it only describes how to install it on raspbian. Any help?

LibreOffice does exist in a fedora repository. You should be able to install it easily by becoming root ("su - root" at command prompt) and typing "yum install libreoffice.armv5tel" at the command prompt. It will probably take awhile to load. I haven't personally tried loading it but it does show up in the repository.

Hi!

Just to confirm, the Pi Store currently only supports Raspbian, but as bbrandt1 said, you can acquire LibreOffice through other means. :)

I tried that and no package by that name is available. I also searched for it with the yum extender but I still can't find it.

@MrBallinCollin -- I'm in the same boat as you. Tried using "yum install libreoffice.armv5tel" ang got the following just as you did: No package libreoffice.armv5tel available.
Error: Nothing to do
