Small project of mine - Kitchen Shoutcast

Wed May 29, 2013 10:22 am

Hello.
I would like to share my small project which I've made. Quick story behind it is that we had old hifi in the kitchen which couldn't play any audio cds and we don't have any old mc cassetes we were stuck with FM which we know sucks.
RPI was laying in my drawer for long time, and then it struck me that I could use it as small kitchen shoutcast radio because our old hifi had aux in :)
I've decided to use adafruit rgb pi display with keypads as it was cheap, quick and easy to assemble. Coding part was done in the python, really bad coding, but it works.
If anybody would like to see it in action:

And I've put the code onto bitbucket public repo. If anybody sees the possibility to improve the code, let me know, do the pull request or something.

Hi,

First of all, thanks for sharing your nice project.

I really enjoy to hear music from my kitchen while i´m cooking or eating something.

I will try it .

Thanks again.
