SSH denied

Tue May 21, 2013 1:04 am

I had some issues with packages earlier and decided to just wipe, download a new image and restart.

First I wrote the wheezy image to a 16gig card with Win32DiskImager and had no problems.

Booted the pi after giving it a long while to complete its initial boot. First attempt to SSH I was disconnected due "network error: software caused connection abort" using Putty. I deleted all the local ssh keys from my windows registry and connected again with success. First thing I did once logged in was increase the root file system size which seemed to work successfully. Rebooted the pi and now when I try to log in I get a plain "Access denied" message. Ive not done anything except expand the root filesystem. Ive tried logging in from two different desktop computers, a laptop running a normal debian wheezy install as well as a tablet and im denied on every client.

Ideas?

Update: If i continue to delete my ssh keys on my windows client I can get in again but I will be disconnected shortly after due to Network error disconnect. Then when I try to log in again I am denied.

How are the laptop and RasPi connected?
Is there anything else on the network?
Are you running a firewall?
Can you connect a keyboard and monitor to the RasPi and debug from that end?
