Launch Radio listening automatically with Squeezelite

Thu May 16, 2013 7:08 am

Hello

I'm playing with a Pi (squeezeplug 6 release) and squeezelite. The LMS is hosted on my Synology NAS.

Everything is running. I had some difficulties with my USB Audio but thanks to this forum :-) I succceed to run it !

Squeezelite is starting fine during the Pi Boot.

What I'd like now is to play automatically one of my radio when squeezelite has started. I can't find the trick for this.

My Pi is connected to a USB port of my audio amp. Is there an issue to switch off/on the Pi brutally without clean shutdown procedure ? Can I do some Pi optimisation on linux to avoid issue of such forced shutdown cycles ?

Thank you

Hi

You could try to use the piCorePlayer.

This is a Squeezelite player which is running entirely in RAM, so you can simply pull the power cord, and no harm is done to the Linux or the SD card as there is no writing to the SD-card.

Sorry picoreplayer is a pure squeezebox player, so there is no shairplay

How will it be possible to add this feature ?

Is it feasible to do this ourselve ?

Thanks

For those running Raspbian, have you found that the latest apt-get update/upgrade breaks squeezelite? All I get is garbled sound output now. Restoring my backup disk image, prior to the update, repairs things. So, be warned... don't do "apt-get update" (and upgrade) unless you have a backup or know how to fix the problem with squeezelite. Well, squeezelite doesn't change... must be something in alsa or pulseaudio. N.
