Best USB Camera

Tue Apr 23, 2013 8:14 am

I've been reading several topics regarding motion usage, but I would like to know which USB cameras fit best in raspberry with highest res possible. Any suggestions?

For example, here
http://programmaticponderings.wordpress ... pberry-pi/
They talk about
Microsoft LifeCam VX-500
With max res of 352 x 288

Impossible to go further with another cam?

& ps3 eye is still low quality for what I'm looking for
maybe Logitech C270?

The Logitech C910/920 and the Microsoft Lifecam Studio are in my opinion the best USB webcams on the market at the moment. Both offer true megapixel resolution and good optics - the latter is often the let down for a lot of webcams. Both work on the Pi though obviously not at high resolution and max frame rates, but if you want to extract a HD capture every 3-4 seconds the Pi handles that well.
