Looking for a suitable ribbon cable

Sat Apr 20, 2013 4:06 am

Hello sirs and madams. This post has some relations to screens and displays, so I thought it be best if I posted it here (forgive me if I am incorrect). Mainly, I am looking for a suitable ribbon cable to attach an LCD module via GPIO to my Pi. Here is the LCD I am purchasing. The picture has single wires that I haven't seen before. Could you point in the right direction for procuring a suitable ribbon cable(s) for this? Thank you!

You'd be better off buying a number of female-female jumper cables, e.g. http://www.amazon.com/40PCS-Dupont-cabl ... B007XPSVMY

The pins you connect to on the Pi end are unlikely to be physically next to each other.

The documentation linked from the page you refer to calls them 'Dupont Connectors'

(To reinforce what joan has said - despite your query, I don't think a ribbon cable is what you need.)

I am completely new to these sorts of modules and cables; as such, I appreciate everyone's willingness to assist me (nice people here!). :D So then, would this link be suitable for the LCD I'm receiving?

Be aware that it's being shipped from China. Could take weeks to arrive...

Thank you for the concern, but I am well aware. I'm willing to wait. :)

Update from 05-01-13
The cable arrived today (before the LCD, strangely enough)! They fit perfectly and are quite colorful; the only download may be the length, but that can be fixed. Thanks for everything, people!
