Pendrive not accessible at start up

Hi all,
I'm trying to access my pen-drive before entering lxde, the problem is pen-drive is being recognized but the files within the pen-drive is not accessible.
I logged in as root, then the following command
cd CC1D-CFAC
#CC1D-CFAC is pendrive device id
then,
ls
couldnt find any file.

But once i get into the lxde and give the same commands i get all the file list in the pen-drive.

Why is this happening? Am I missing anything?

Your pendrive is not being "mounted" at boot-time - hence its "mount point" the "CC1D-CFAC" directory is empty. Once you've entered the LXDE environment that's probably "auto-mounting" it for you. Take a look at the "man pages" for "mount" and "fstab" ("man mount", "man fstab").
