City builders?

Sat Apr 06, 2013 2:10 am

Hi, Jemographic here :ugeek:

I was wondering if there is a simcity (or similar citybuilder) that can be played on raspberry pi. I couldn't find one myself so I can here

My criteria ~
Simple to download (ie, sudo aptitude install... or an easy internet download)
FREE
not too slow (I don't want to spend 3 hours waiting for the cursor to move)
In browser is fine

And thats about it - Hope you can help

i think the pi can play dos games, there are lots of dos games try and find one. i seem to recall a simcity being on dos but im probably crazy, i think simtower is on dos, not city building, you build a hotel kinda thing still fun.

There has been numerous Sim games for DOS such as SimCity, SimCity 2000, SimFarm, SimAnt and one of the best Transport Tycoon Deluxe. TTD can be installed with OpenTTD, it has been ported. For the other games, you can try dosbox port or the new in the works rpix86 emulator. If you aren't afraid of some retro style, the original SimCity should work pretty well in dosbox, the other games might stutter. Oh and SimTower was for Windows 3.1, not dos.

Thanks for that.

But, err sorry for being so clueless but, whats DOS?
is it something i have to download, or Debian operating system or even something completely different.

So, where can i download these games - I don't mind going retro  My dad has a Neo-Geo cabinet running MAME in my lounge room at the moment

Oh yeah, one more thing - when were these simcity games originally released if possible

Thanks alot,
