I was "pipped at the post" by DeeJay for my main point

but would also add:
1) Have you tried with the T.V. switched on and in HDMI mode before plugging in/booting the Pi?
2) Have you tried just using the (albeit low res.) A/V mode via an "RCA yellow plug" cable to the T.V. A/V input (as used by old VCR's, DVD player's, Playstation etc.). If your T.V. only has SCART A/V connectors it's adapters are available (often supplied with camcorders, Playstation, XBox? etc.)

Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, 2xB2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, and a A+) but Buster on the P4B's. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm
