Loosing connection to windows 7 network

Wed Mar 20, 2013 7:35 am

when i copy a file to a networked computer in windows 7 from another windows 7 computer my raspberry pi stops seeing the windows computer, a restart of the computer enables the pi to see the networked computer again. I had the same problem with a similar setup but the media player was a cyclone live, I have got a new computer and still have the same problem, the computer that I use to store media is visible to other windows computers but not the pi until I restart the windows computer.

Please help as this is an annoying problem.

Thanks

Michael

How are you copying files between the machines? Or are you really streaming media files? My preferred method to transfer files between a Windows box and a Pi is basic (secure) ftp using a cross-platform client such as FileZilla (there are others). Can the Pi still ping the Windows box - if by "not seeing" you mean it can't, then there is a network connection issue which is different (maybe hardware related) to "file copying".
Trev.
Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, 2xB2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, and a A+) but Buster on the P4B's. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm
