I've set up a repository with some packages for Raspbian of audio software that is either not available or not up to date:
http://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/raspber ... repository
For the moment the repository only contains guitarix 0.25.2, Jack1 0.121.3 and Jack2 1.9.8 (the latter two both patched for use on the RPi). I'm in the process of adding more packages. This is more or less a personal repo so I'll only add stuff I really need myself. You can do package requests of course but I can't guarantee they'll be honored.
Regards,
Jeremy

Awesome! The RPi is not perfect for guitar effects but it does the job once properly set up. You might want to check out http://ampbrownie.com too.Peterleroux wrote:Thanks! I'm going to be breadboarding a guitar effects pedal based on a model a, this will be a very solid start for me

LinuxSampler is now also in the repository. And I've updated the Carla package which now has full support for all features.

Re: Rasbian repository for audio related software packages
Thank you for your effoerts with the audio repository so far - great work!
Well, as these little gems seem to run quite well, what about adding current versions of:
http://synthv1.sourceforge.net/synthv1-index.html
http://samplv1.sourceforge.net/samplv1-index.html
http://drumkv1.sourceforge.net/drumkv1-index.html
The versions in the repository are already a bit dated, or rather Rui Nuno Capela is adding new features constantly
I am currently compiling their latest sources on the pi for testing...

Re: Rasbian repository for audio related software packages
Hi, thanks for providing this repository. I am really interested to try using linux sampler with rpi however when I try and start Qsampler it crashes stating 'Segmentation Error'. Looking at the Linuxsampler forums this appeared to be a problem that I think was eventually solved. Would you be able to help? I'm very new to all things rpi/linux related so I am unfortunately unable to provide a more technical explanation of the problem. Thanks.

I am unable to connect to the rpi autostatic repository:

Re: Rasbian repository for audio related software packages
For those interested I've uploaded the following packages to my Raspbian repository (http://rpi.autostatic.com/):
Jeremy
- linux-image-cirrus: meta package that installs a kernel with Wolfson/Cirrus Logic audio interface support
- cirrus-config-overlay: package that installs the device tree overlay file for the Wolfson/Cirrus Logic audio interface
- cirrus-config-modprobe: package that installs the modprobe config file for the Wolfson/Cirrus Logic audio interface
- cirrus-config-scripts: package that installs the playback, record and reset scripts for use with the Wolfson/Cirrus Logic audio interface
- cirrus-config: meta package that installs all the above packages

Re: Rasbian repository for audio related software packages
Just a quick addendum, the cirrus-config and linux-image packages have been tested on both the RPi1 and the RPi2.

Re: Rasbian repository for audio related software packages
Love what you did here! I really want to try out "non-sequencer" but I keep getting an error when I go to download it from your repository. Do you no longer keep that online?
Re: Rasbian repository for audio related software packages
My mistake it was a network issue on my end. Got non-sequencer installed and will be trying it out soon. Thanks again!

I cannot get a2jmidid to work at all. It runs in the console but connecting to it in qjackctrl crashes jack.

Re: Rasbian repository for audio related software packages
Trying to build a2jmidid on the Pi
waf configure finishes with the following
------------------------------------------------------
Install prefix : /usr/local/
D-Bus support : yes
D-Bus service install directory : /usr/local/share/dbus-1/services
WARNING: D-Bus session services directory as reported by pkg-config is
WARNING: /usr/share/dbus-1/services
WARNING: but service file will be installed in
WARNING: /usr/local/share/dbus-1/services
WARNING: You may need to adjust your D-Bus configuration after installing
WARNING: You can override dbus service install directory
WARNING: with --enable-pkg-config-dbus-service-dir option to this script
Configuration finished successfully; project is now ready to build.
--------------------------------------------------
does this mean it will build and run OK or do I need to override the dbus service install to get it to run on the pi?

Seems a2jmidid on the Pi only works with Jack2

Re: Rasbian repository for audio related software packages
a2jmidid should work but nowadays you might want to look at the built-in JACK-ALSA MIDI bridges for Jack1 and Jack2. When using -Xseq they should get loaded with recent versions of Jack1 and Jack2. Which Raspbian are you using? The Wheezy or the Jessie one?

Re: Rasbian repository for audio related software packages
Long overdue but I've uploaded LinuxSampler 2.0.0 to my Raspbian Jessie repository. Raspbian Wheezy users are out of luck unless someone knows a way to compile LinuxSampler 2.0.0 with a GCC version <= 4.8.
