Help finding a case

Sat Mar 09, 2013 7:06 am

Hi i'm new to the forum and I am struggling to find a case that will work with my RasPi. I am using a Slice of Pi with some components on it so most standard cases wont work as the lid of the case wont fit. I am trying to find a case that gives me a minimum of 24mm above the RasPi board and will still allow the lid of the case to be closed, has anybody got any ideas?

My RasPi is a pager encoder that works with a Motorola UHF radio to activate Pocsag pocket pagers, so far it works faultlessly so I just want to try and tidy it up now.

Nick (torquetube),
Most of the cases I've come across (eg. via Amazon) tend to support "ribbon cable" style connection to GPIO prototyping boards. However I am using the "Slice of PI/O" derivative of "Slice of Pi" with a couple of cases (see pictures on my webpages: http://www.cpmspectrepi.webspace.virgin ... OfPio.html). One case is for the new Model A board, the other for Model B - in the latter case the "lid section" has been removed. However, for both types, the "Slice of PI/O" board (and its "piggy-backed" boards) are NOT enclosed. At present, I guess, that would have to be a "custom mod.". Should you wish to make your own cover you could do so with something like "plastikard" - favoured by (Railway) modellers (in my case, 'N' gauge). The UK supplier can be found at https://slatersplastikard.com/ .

Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, 2xB2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, and a A+) but Buster on the P4B's. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm

i used an ipod touch box the only thing is the rounded corners, but the width is enough to work around that. plenty of room width and length, plenty of depth also. advantage the SD card is inside the case so it won't get damaged...
