MP3 Jukebox questions

Fri Mar 08, 2013 2:06 pm

Hi,

I'm working on an MP3 Jukebox installation kind of thing... call it an 'industry report' on the music scene today.

This is the guide that the project is based around

My question:

I'm a beginner - how would I go about writing this firmware in such a way that it removes the conveniences that MP3 players usually come with?

Things like removing features like the ability to jump into an album halfway through - you start an album from track one and if you get bored you have to stop listening and try again later. You can't jump in to just listen to the one tune you like off a bad record - you have to listen to the whole thing.

A possibility (using this Jukebox program) would be to write it so that you can't access the "songs" category (see the left column here). That would make the musical experience a bit more challenging for the listener.

How would that work? Has anyone built something similar around here?

Thanks
