Acces file server out of lan

Sun Mar 03, 2013 11:06 am

Hi all,
i am quite new to linux, but I am
getting the hang of it. I have recently
set up a smb file server using the
following tut: http://elinux.org/R-Pi_NAS
Right now I can acces the server from
within my lan. Is there a way I can
acces it out of my lan? I have already
setup a ssh server and have forewarded
port 22 on my router to my pi, so I can
acces my ssh from out of my lan.

Change the default password !
Forward port 22 to a random four-digit port on your router (bots!)
Use a dynamic DNS service like No-IP ...

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.
• Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org
