Black Screen + RaspBerry Logo

Thu Feb 28, 2013 6:46 pm

Hi there, I have just purchased my Pi today. Burned the 2012-08-08-wheezy-armel image on a 32 GB SD card. Attached keyboard + Mouse + Composite Video cable. Powered it using a Samsung Micro USB Adapter (5 V, 700 mA).

When I power on, my TV's screen adjusts to fit the display, I get a black screen with the RaspBerry Pi logo at the top left corner ... Then NOTHING happens. I tried leaving it on for about 30 minutes. Nothing Changed.

I noticed that none of the Keyboard's lights were on (caps, num..etc) and that the mouse was off as well (no light). I am using standard simple USB keyboard and mouse (A4Tech) and I tried attaching them to my laptop, after a few seconds of self-discovery they both worked perfectly on my W 7 laptop.

PLEASE HELP! I am dying to get my Pi running...

Cheers.
Ma'en

Any reason why you are using that particular image?

That image may be too old to support the larger RAM chip on the 512 Mbyte RPis.

You will need the newer Raspbian "wheezy" image released recently http://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads
