iZettle ?

Mon Feb 18, 2013 2:51 pm

Has anyone signed up to use the iZettle yet (plug into a smartphone/android & take credit card payments) ?

The website states "You will require a 3G, 4G or Wifi internet connection in order to use iZettle.", but I can't see any reference to any Android devices which have just Wifi (ie not 3G or 4G).
Not really wanting to purchase an ipad or a smartphone at this stage. :?

Many thanks

I dont know what youre asking really so...with a risk of missing...

iZettle works with Android/Iphone/Ipad aslong as you have either, 3G, 4G or Wifi connection when using the ios/android app togheter with its addon.

Thanks for response, will try to be more clear. The izettle website seems to say it will work with just wifi. On the list of compatible devices, I can't see any tablets with wifi only - they're either smartphones or tablets with 3g/4g (or I'm missing them).
Asking the question directly to iZettle just points me back to the website.
Asking the question of staff at EE shops where they stock the iZettle gives different replies:
  • - Yes it will work with a generic android tablet with wifi
  • - No it will not work with a generic android tablet with wifi
They're only £20 so may just buy one to see.

Aslong as your generic tablet means say any android tablet following the standard it will work with either wifi/3g/4g or just an ipad/iphone.

What they should have written instead of throwing out technical specs like that is..."Any internet connected android/ios device that has this kind of connector".

Hope this clears it up for you, so if you have a android phone and it have internet through wifi, 3g or 4g it will work.

Curiously, anyone tried using SumUp? https://sumup.com/#a_aid=sumup
