Mouse/Keyboard requirements

Sat Feb 16, 2013 8:41 pm

I'm looking to get a RPi, but I don't have any leftover mouses or keyboards laying around, so I'll have to buy some new. Most keyboards and such that I'm looking at say that Linux kernel 2.6 or higher is required for working properly. Does the RPi support this, or should I look for some other hardware requiremens?

I will always assume you are running Raspbian for desktop and Raspbmc for XMBC !

Spid was right, the Verified Peripherals page is an important resource.

Yes, the Pi kernels are higher than 2.6. I think the most important thing is low power usage, nothing fancy. Verified Peripherals page is the best place to get a list of keyboards know to work on the Raspberry Pi.
