Porting PVM to Arch Linux

Wed Feb 13, 2013 12:37 am

Hi

I have installed Arch Linux on my Raspberry Pi and am trying to Port over a PVM to the Raspberry Pi.

I have downloaded the PVM to my workspace on the Pi, and have to set the PVM_ROOT (path to where PVM is located) in the .cshrc file, now initially i did some research and attempted to edit the .cshrc file in the /etc directory however its not there, am i looking in the wrong place?

This is where i'm stumped, and if its of any use here's the tutorial i've been using http://www.physics.orst.edu/~rubin/n...M/install.html.

Many thanks

Raspbian "wheezy" has a PVM package in the repository

Console and communication daemon binaries for the Parallel Virtual
Machine. Should be sufficient to utilize a node in a dynamically linked
PVM program such as pvmpov.

I will always assume you are running Raspbian for desktop and Raspbmc for XMBC !
