Tools For Windows Users

Mon Feb 04, 2013 1:08 pm

I'm setting-up a Windows 2000 VM for development usage. This also includes basic UNIX shell scripting so I set-up BASH and ZSH shells, basic UNIX tools and support for EXT filesystems. To save myself future effort I bundled these tools in a single EXE.

Since this can also help die hard Windoze users set-up their Pi's I thought to link the upload here. Maybe it can save you guys some time...

Includes:
  • dd
    ssh
    mount
    sed
    awk
    grep
    lots more.......
[Mod edit: There is concern that a first timme poster linking to an executable may not be kosher. To the OP - sorry, but it's a bit risky to others, so I have deleted the link]

I wouldn't trust a Windoze executable from a first time poster either.........
Don't judge Linux by the Pi.......

The choice of user name doesn't do much to instil confidence either.

I would encourage people to try one of these, instead of downloading executables from someone's dropbox.

Sorry,
Can understand the link has been removed.. I don't use Windows too often so I totally forgot about the virus panic and other things you should be paranoid about.

But..... First Time Poster?????..... Where the  have my posts gone???!!
I'm a forum member for quite some time now and am sure I've posted at least 3 HOWTO's and multiple comments (And No.. I don't comment in only links, emoticons, single or banned words...)
Strange...... But well....

Would it be OK if I did a full upload to SourceForge including all original binary distributions, checksums and sources or should I not link to Windows apps at all???

Never judge a book by it's cover.... Most probably you are not an 90 year old guy, driving an old-timer while wearing a monocle and calling everyone chap or fellow as your name suggests ;)
