Bash and Fonts - Help !

When reading Bash Script programs the difference of some letters become very important

One ___________ 1
lower case L _____ l

upper case i_____ I

can all look about the same ! :?

Does anyone know of a font (in LibreOffice for example) that has different looking symbols so mistakes are less likely ?

For editing code, I mainly use Bitstream Vera Mono (from the ttf-bitstream-vera package).

All of those characters are distinctive.
