problem with usb and lan

Fri Feb 01, 2013 12:13 pm

I just got my raspberry running and it worked fine with raspmc and rasbian "wheezy" for couple of hours,
but then usb and lan interfaces stopped working.
lan leds, usb keyboard and usb memory are not working.
what should i do ,is it broken?

power specs is 1A / 5V
tested also 0.7A / 5V

What is written on a power supply label sometimes is not 100% accurate. The only way to be sure is to measure as described at http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting# ... r_problems.

USB and LAN not working is not an unheard of hardware fault and the only sure fix is to have it replaced. http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... =28&t=5766.

I had exactly the same problem with a 5V, 700mA power supply. Voltage across TP1 &TP2 was down to 4.18 V and system would regularly freeze.

No problems since I put in a better PSU.

(drgeoff is absolutely right - do not trust what is written on the plug!)

However if nothing is coming on when you plug it in, the problem may be more serious.
