I need HDMI to component video converter.
I see 2 options:
1) HDMI male to Component male. Not powered. Not with chip or IC. $$5.00 USD

2) HDMI male to Component male box. Powered. With chips and ICs inside. $80.00 USD

which do i need? Could you link me to a better price and quality?

Thank you!

the cable (unpowered) is a very short run (only 1.5M), the powered one should give you a better signal on a longer run.

The first link is to a cable that is only suitable for HDMI with Analog/Component output already built in. The Pi only has Digital output, so no good.

The second is to a Digital to Analog converter. That will work, but is rather expensive.

I wonder if a HDMI(Digital) to VGA converter linked to a VGA to Component converter might work and be cheaper?
