Wifi problems

Mon Jan 28, 2013 9:48 am

Hi,
I have an D-link DWA140 adapter and i saw that is was compatible with the raspberry pi.
I didn't know if it was the DWA140 a or DWA140 b so i did it both.
I'm running xbian but i can't search for wifisignals because he don't recognize my wifi adapter.
What do i need to do now?
I'm just a interested nerd without any knowledge :D

Just because something is deemed compatible doesn't mean it will work out the box many dongles still require drivers to be installed.
First you need to find the chipset of your dongle then check the instructions for getting the chipset to work in Linux.
This would look something like: apt-get install (stuff) and modprobe (stuff) etc.

The latest XBian1.0Alpha4 is still not working out-of-the-box with Wi-Fi.
