motion - strange image output

Sun Jan 27, 2013 7:13 pm

Hey,

I'm sitting on this problem for hours and I hoped somebody here could help me out. I plugged a Microsoft LifeCam HD 3000 via USB in my raspi (running with wheezy) and am trying to get it run, so I can see the stream online.

So far, it works well, but the output stream looks weird:

It should look like this:

The second picture is taken with mjpg_streamer, where it works fine.

Motion told me my camera supports YUYV and MJPG. Cause YUYV caused errors (watchdog timeout) I used MJPG and settet

v4l2_palette 2

and to get it run on the web webcam_localhost off. The rest is the standart configuration.

Has anybody an idea what is working wrong here?

I can't even seem to get that far... I get the error when trying to restart the service:

Stopping motion detection daemon: motionNo /usr/bin/motion found running; none killed.

I'm at a loss, have you done anything special with your config, mind sharing?

Thanks,
Patrick

I'm having the same issue with an 808 camera. I've messed around with motions settings and haven't been able to see any changes. Images though anything else look fine.

Karamell, I just switched over to Arch and installed motion and it fixed the problem. Looks and works beautifully.
