Raspberry not booting with Kingston UltimateX 100X

Sat Jan 26, 2013 1:17 pm

Hi, I have the mmc0 timeout error while booting on Raspian wheezy with the Kingston ultimatex 100X.
Even with the start.elf and kernel.img of the new firmware on it.
Can anyone help me please?

Have you successfully booted the RPi with a different SD card? If not, do you have a different card to try?

I booted on the working card to update the firmware.
The other card is still not working.
Can i do something except changing the card?

It seems that Kingston has changed their sd cards somehow, newer ones are reported as failing on the PI, Best to stay away from Kingston.

The way you wrote that makes me think that you don't realise the firmware stays on the card. It doesn't get written to some other memory on the RPi board.

You can try updating the firmware on the card which does work and then copying its FAT partition to the Kingston UltimateX. You can use a Windows or Mac computer to do that.

I have the same problem, just bought a new Kingston SD card 16GB class 10 made in Taiwan.
Working with an microSD card with adapter but not with Kingston. I think i will return to the store to change it.
If anybody have an ideea I will try it..
