Digital Signage using the Pi?

Wed Jan 23, 2013 10:10 pm

Hi all,

I have only just acquired my Raspberry Pi today! :) and am wondering if it can be used to power digital signage using an LCD screen. What I require is the ability to have scrolling text, images in a slideshow and also video playback from news sites. I know this is a big ask, but I am curious as to what this great device can do.

I currently have a Wifi Dongle, Case, Power Supply and a 8gb Memory Card. This is what we currently use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wMiU9ry344

thank you in advance!

Do a search in the forum, this has been covered quite a lot, and there are several solutions. ;)

A search of "Digital Sinage" retrieved 15 pages of hits. :D Including this two. ;)

How about this idea for sinage http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 64&t=30893
Noob is not derogatory the noob is just the lower end of the noob--geek spectrum being a noob is just your first step towards being an uber-geek ;)

If you find a solution please post it in the wiki the forum dies too quick
