Proxy school server

Hi everybody,

There have probably been a lot of posts about it.

At my school we have a proxy.

Now my question:

how can i configure the pi to go to the proxy.

And its not supposed to be just for apt, but for everything.

I know i can configure something similar in the browser, but thats not enough.

Furthermore i want to set up a proxy at home , i am using squid3 ubunt server, but it is not working correctly. please Help!!

i tried the stuff you gave me with the link and it didnt work
i get errors of lines were stuff was expected like ";"

The Connection to the proxy is the problem.
I want to go to the proxy with the pistore but it doesn't have a proxy.conf
Isnt there one proxy file for all programs in raspbian?

To use a proxy-server from the command-line, you can define the variable 'http_proxy' or 'ftp_proxy'. Depending on your shell, it's either (for zsh/bash):

export ftp_proxy="http://proxy:proxy-port"

or (for csh/tcsh)

setenv http_proxy="http://proxy:proxy-port"
setenv ftp_proxy="http://proxy:proxy-port"

Replace "proxy" with either IP or hostname for the proxy-server and replace "proxy-port" with the portnumber for the proxy. If your proxy requires authentication, you need to add that (like username:password@proxy or Domain\username:password@proxy).

Note: These changes will only work for processes started from the running shell .. and only until you exit the running shell. To make them permanent, you should add them to your shell's config-file.

Probably what you need is a transparent proxy. Normally this would be on your default gateway. All traffic to port 80 will normally end up going through your gateway, so you set up an ip chains rule on the gateway to route all traffic to port 80 on the gateway via squid's port (3128 by default). Thus you don't need to change anything on any of the computers connecting to the gateway.

If you think this might be what you want, I can provide more details on how to do it.

I really appreciate it.
My Proxy is running squid 3.19 on ubuntu 12.04.
I set up the proxy about a month ago and it works fine.
I configured it to allow all connections, because it's just a gateway, no ad-blocker or anything.
But with my Android-Phone (LG nexus 4) i cannot give internet to games and apps with the proxy (apps/games like speedtest.net (only shows ping and download and an error on upload) and Shadowgun: Deadzone (says cannot contact server when playing deatmatch) (these are just examples)). The Android phone uses a Fritz.Box to connect to the proxy and thus connect my phone to the internet.
And on the pi the pi store loads but doesn't show any programs and loads constantly.
So i think it has to do with the config.
I will take a look at it and will post my findings.
I know I shouldn't write it in this post, but does someone know how to decompile any programm to assembly?

I have the maps done just gotta build the GUI and the server.
