Unresponsive/crash after short amount of time

Wed Jan 09, 2013 1:16 pm

Hello,

I have a model B that I think may be faulty.

It becomes unresponsive and has to be powered off/on after anything from a few minutes to a few hours.

I have tried numerous power supplies, including one specifically for the pi from http://thepihut.com/ which is rated at 5v/1.5a.

The behaviour is the same regardless or what is plugged in to the USB ports (I have tried with an Enermax wifi dongle, and also with USB empty and using wired networking).

Usually when it dies, the monitor displays "check signal cable" and the LAN LED's on the pi turn off, with the ACT and PWR LED's still on.

Here are a couple of syslogs:

Can anyone help?

Just to add, I see the same behaviour with two different SD cards:

PNY SDHC 8gb class 4 (listed as bad on http://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards)
Sandisk Micro SDHC 4gb class 4 (listed as OK)

I RMA'd the unit and got a replacement which has been working fine.
