How do I turn my Pi on?

Ive been playing around with my Pi in the den, but now the time has come to put it downstairs with the TV to act as a media centre.
In my den Ive been removing then inserting the power cable to get the Pi to boot. I don't want to do that in my Living Room though.
I have a Lenovo mini wireless keyboard N5901 that connects wirelessly over USB. It would be great to push a button on that and have the Pi start up.
The most ideal solution though would be to get an IR sensor for the Pi as I have a Logitech Harmony remote control.

Any ideas? How do others startup their Pi in their media centres?

I just leave mine permanently switched on under the TV. It consumes very little power (apparently).

I've turned it off, and now, to boot again, I must unplug/plug in the power cord?

Basically, yes, from what I can gather.
You can:
- Get a remote control mains adapter
- Rig up an IR sensor via the GPIO port
- Rig a button to the GPIO port (i presume you can do this)

All in all not a perfect (or easy) solution
