Raspberry pi for video surveillance ???

Sat Jan 05, 2013 7:17 am

hello all,
sorry for my bad English.
I appeal to all of you 'cause I'd like to use my raspberry pi with 512mb for an application of this type
i wont use it for build a video surveillance system able to able to function even in the absence of mains supply with little battery and solar panel on, connected to a webcam infrared for night.
would be interesting to be able to manage the webcam and moction detect movement in the relevant field and alarm remote users via a usb 3g

so as to save the images in memory in case of alarm detected, after which you should establish a connection through a modem on HSDPA usb 3g with internet
consumption or subscription once the connection is made with a script designed specifically related images captured by the webcam should be sent to
remote users for signaling, see email dropbox upload to my nas home all'appl of my android phone etc etc and also via script to a web service for airtelco 'sms, if the user is not
connected to the Internet.
soon as the user will have 'been able to verify the alarm images on the Internet will be able' to return a command to the modem via web HSDPA to turn
it off manually, otherwise always the sw that must 'turn the modem on the raspberry pi will be' disconnected automatically
after 5 -10 minutes to conserve time or traffic load.

my idea is to use a system like this in my house all in one container to prevent the severe weather conditions
let me know what do you think?
you have ideas about?
let me know already 'that I could buy hardware compatible with my project
thank you very much
