TTYUSBx Issues Since Last Jessie Upgrade

Hi All,

Has something (driver/settings etc.) changed around the TTYUSBx devices in the last version of the Jessie kernel. I upgraded to the last version of Jessie the other day (not ready for Stretch yet) and since then my Kobuki Robot is reporting "malformed sub-payload detected" when connected to this interface.

I am sure it has something to do in and around the Kernel somewhere or a slight change in settings. Does anyone know of anything?

Many Thanks

Mark

Hi Raspberry Pi, Kobuki friends, and Mark,

We got the same error message: malformed sub-payload detected when we execute: roslaunch kobuki_node minimal.launch --screen, and continuously shows up every tens second.

Checked the version which shows Version Info:

Hardware Version: 1.0.4
Firmware Version: 1.2.0
Software Version: 0.7.8

Hope to hear your expertise.

Not smart hijacking an ancient thread from 2017. That was about two whole OS versions ago.

Did a split as a favour.

Hi mahjongg,

Thanks for your reminder. After searching many forums from Raspberry Pi, ROS wiki, github and others. We found this error message is a long existing issue across OS. Even in 2020, the issue is still unresolved. The majority of conclusion is: "doesn't feel it affects performance, so ignore it", only 1-2 constructive suggestion(s) on the scientific cause.

Will create a new topic if we still can not solve the issue in few days.

Best,

Please don't. You already have a topic. More than one on the same subject will get one of them deleted or locked.

duplicates will be deleted!

also moved to ubuntu, many things don't work with ubuntu that do work with Raspberry PI OS.

Return to “Ubuntu”
