USB speed after moving from RPi 3 B to RPi 4

Mon Aug 03, 2020 1:32 am

I have been running Raspbian Buster on a Raspberry Pi 3 B for over a year and got a RPi 4 4GB recently. I cloned the SD card and moved the SSD from the 3 to 4. Everything seems to be fine except the speed. If I put the SSD on one of the USB 2 ports, the speed is similar to I used to wtih the RPi 3. If I plug the SDD to one of the USB 3 ports, the transfer rate is noticeable slower. Is there something I need to do?

Reinstall the system is a better idea to such problem. I used to find a lot weird problem when cloning the windows system to my new PC and then I decided to reinstall each time.

Thanks, that was the issue. I switched the enclosure for my SSD and the speed came way up.
