How to use Bluetooth for headphones?

Fri Jul 31, 2020 9:08 am

(raspberry pi 4) if i try and connect my headphone by clicking on Bluetooth logo in top right and then pressing "add device" then press on my headphones, after a few seconds it will say " Pairing failed - GDBus.Error:org:bluez.Error.ConnectionAttemptFailed: Page Timeout"

if i use the command line i use the commands " bluetoothctl" then "scan on" if my headphones come up (they have only come up once) i copy and paste the XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX code and type "pair XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX" the command line will then send an error message. (although i believe this is due to the issue of my device being discover-able by the pi for a few seconds)

so can someone please tell whats going wrong and how i can fix it.

(i can connect to my bluetooth speaker through the regular bluetooth menu without using command line, but no audio comes out even after selecting it in the sound menu as the audio output)

Did you install any extra Bluetooth software?

I have no trouble with either my Bluetooth headphones or speakers, using only the default Raspbian (RPiOS) with desktop software. I just pair the devices and select which one I want to use by right-clicking on the volume icon.

My mind is like a browser. 27 tabs are open, 9 aren't responding,
lots of pop-ups...and where is that annoying music coming from?
