Hi all I got a 15 inch portable display for £60 via an eBay offer (normally £120+) to use for a portable application for my pi. Display has a mini HDMI, and usb C and mini display port. I am trying to figure out what would be neatest solution single video cable.
Any ideas?
Thanks so much.
From your mention of micro-HDMI I assume your RPi is a 4B.
Neatest solution would be a micro-HDMI to mini-HDMI cable. Not sure if those are readily available.
Otherwise either:
Micro-HDMI (male) to HDMI (female) adaptor and a HDMI to mini-HDMI cable.
or
Micro-HDMI to HDMI cable and a mini-HDMI (male) to HDMI (female) adaptor).
Your choice between those two might be influenced by which of the RPI or the display end is preferable for the extra bulk of an adaptor.
None of the above will power the display. That is extra.
Just in case you are wondering, RP4B cannot output video from its USB-C port. HDMI to Display Port cannot be accomplished with passive cables/adaptors.
