SteamLink no longer works after upgrading to kernel 5.4.51

Wed Jul 22, 2020 9:29 am

After updating to kernel 5.4.51 , the SteamLink app will run, but when connecting to the PC will have distorted video. I have tested this on the latest RetroPie and on Raspbian. Both work fine until the kernel is upgraded to 5.4.51.

I'm having trouble rolling back the kernel because apt upgrade now upgrades the kernel from 4.4.19 to 5.4.51.

Seeking some help on this one.

Cheers!

You can roll back to 4.19.118 with

sudo apt install rpi-update
sudo rpi-update e1050e94821a70b2e4c72b318d6c6c968552e9a2
sudo apt purge rpi-update
sudo reboot

I'm afraid to touch the box right now since I just got it working again, so I'm not quite ready to try an update. Will that command store just the kernel or the kernel along with the kernel headers?
