Raspberry Pi with LED Strip

Tue Jul 21, 2020 3:03 am

Hi i am new at hooking up LED strips to my raspberry pi and i am using it in general to use with an Alexa pi project i am working on and want to be able to indicate Alexa's state with these LED strips. I bought LED's off of amazon and they came and I am currently stuck, I've looked everywhere and can't tell if I'm using the wrong power supply or if I have destroyed the lights or I am just under powering them. I don't want to have to repurchase the lights to figure out that it was actually just another issue. These are the links to the products i currently have:

LED Strips: https://www.amazon.ca/CHINLY-Individual ... M4EZZY27YM

Power Supply: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08662 ... UTF8&psc=1

I am using a breadboard following this circuit diagram exactly: https://core-electronics.com.au/media/w ... ematic.png

I am using a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage. I have a feeling that it is the power supply and the amps that vs the amount of LED's I am running but that is just a guess. This has made me extremely frustrated. I hope that if anyone knows the solution to this would be great or better yet show me the combination of items you have used so that i can use the same. I also believe this would help anyone as new as i am.
