Bluetooth Audio only working with certain apps

Sun Jul 19, 2020 1:18 pm

I'm having a Bluetooth audio issue on my Raspberry Pi4 running Buster (appears to be using Alsa audio, with no pulseaudio installed). Some apps like Chrome work fine and I can get Bluetooth audio out my headphones. Other apps (VLC Audio, Raspotify) don't. The headphones are paired and the audio control output is pointing to them, but I get no sound except from Chrome (specifically YouTube for example). I also get no sound from my apps using the pygame mixer. These all work fine out the headphone jack with Bluetooth is not selected. I'm guessing it has to do with config files for the specific apps but maybe not. Any advice?

Thanks

VLC works with my Bluetooth headphones. Check the VLC settings under Tools > Preferences > Audio > Output module (mine is on Automatic).
My mind is like a browser. 27 tabs are open, 9 aren't responding,
lots of pop-ups...and where is that annoying music coming from?
