Raspberry 4b 8GB Capacitor

Sat Jul 18, 2020 9:47 am

Hi, I damaged a capacitor near to the LEDs and USB-C Port. Next to the MXL7704 Chip. I had to take out because it short cut the power. Witout is working as well but for sure I like to replace.

As I found it should be Type 0805. Is on Vin1 Vin2 for pin 28/29 on MXL7704 . I measured on a woking 4GB version unsoldered an poth are parallel and had 830nF.

Before measurement I woud say 100nF and after 400/380nF. But I really don't know.

A FULL chematic would be great.

The fondation don't help and wrote that I ask here.

Thanks for help.

The part is a 22uF 6.3V X5R capacitor.

You are great! Thaks a lot! I ordered the capacitor already.

May I ask about the IC in schematics. From where I can see that the IC is the MXL7704?

It is a MxL7704-P4 which is a Raspberry Pi 4 specific variant of the MxL7704. There are some undocumented differences in the default power-on configuration from the generic MxL7704 part you can buy.
